About Our 'no single supplement' Creative Writing Holidays
Menorca Singles Writing Holidays are to be enjoyed not endured. The week long course is open to all levels of writer and we try to create a "no stress" and positive learning environment. To see personal development in our writing guests is always gratifying, although it is equally important to us that you have a great time whilst on Menorca.
Georgina Bromwich, your course tutor, has a wealth of experience in all types of writing and understands that our guests' motives for booking a writing holiday can differ greatly - "Whether you are looking to write an epic and have writers' block or are just keen to discover your own writing strengths, I look forward to spending the week helping you develop."
During your holiday we will cover a number of different writing styles, "maybe you haven't had a go at poetry since school; experimenting outside your comfort zone can breathe new life into your notebook". Every day will focus on a different creative building block, cemented together with discussions, brain storming, solitary time and feedback sessions, all set in a unique location. During your holiday we will cover a number of different writing styles, including:
- magazine articles
- writing for the Internet / blogs
- poetry experimentation
- short stories
- travelogues
With the focus on daily, achievable objectives, by the end of each morning, those who wish to share their work with the group will be able to. "I am a firm believer that we write to be read. No one produces a blockbuster novel with the intention of keeping it hidden in their hard drive."
At the end of each morning's sesion, we take a long, leisurely, Mediterranean style lunch. Here we can discuss the morning's events, chat amongst friends or simply enjoy the wonderful food and wine on offer.
