Your Creative Writing Teacher

Georgina Bromwich, your creative writing teacher

"A blank piece of paper has little
   protection against an island where
just turning a corner sets a new chain
   of ideas in motion."

We are delighted to announce that Georgina Bromwich has agreed to be our 2010 course tutor.

A Home Counties girl, Georgina was born in Buckinghamshire, grew up in Surrey, studied at Cambridge and the last place she called home in the UK was Southend in Essex.  Having travelled widely, Georgina is now settled on Menorca with her Spanish husband and their two young children.  Georgina is a literary force of nature and there are few publications on the Balearic Islands that have not benefitted from her bright and inventive writing style.  From travel text to interviews, 'creative' non-fiction to staid essays, her credits include:-

  • Columnist at the newspaper, "Majorca Daily Bulletin".
  • Features Editor for "Menorca Life" magazine.
  • Monthly contributor to "easyJet Traveller"; regular writer for bmibaby's "yeahbaby" inflight magazine.
  • Author of numerous location guides across the Balearics, published in coffee table magazines such as "Spanish Homes Magazine", "International Homes Magazine" and "Spanish Magazine."
  • Author of the Frommer's guidebook "The Balearics with your family" published in 2007.

As well as being a talented writer, Georgina is completely at one with Menorca, both understanding and enjoying the environment in which she teaches.  She has a bright, fun and, sometimes, slightly off the wall attitude to teaching, which always goes down well with our guests.  She enthuses:- "Menorca never fails to inspire.  Whether it be history, culture or natural beauty, Menorca adds a dose of magic to the equation that leaves no one indifferent.  A blank piece of paper has little protection against an island where just turning a corner sets a new chain of ideas in motion."
