About Menorca
The setting for your singles walking holiday

Menorca is the perfect destination for a Singles Walking Holiday. A visually stunning island, it offers a multitude of golden beaches and enchanting hidden coves. Most of these have lush green pine forests as a backdrop, making for views that are both seductive and addictive.

During the spring Menorca is a floral paradise, with a spectacular range of Mediterranean flowers on view. The flora is stunning, with fields completely covered in yellow Crown Daisies, White Asphodels and the spectacular red Italian Sainfoin. Field Gladiolus, Tree Spurge, along with a variety of orchids are all common on Menorca. Menorcan endemic plants also include the small purple Ragwort, the weird Dragon's mouth and Spiney Socarrell.

Menorca is a UNESCO recognised biosphere. In other words, it's an internationally renowned nature reserve and, as such, plays home to a rich variation of animal wildlife. Most notable are the eagles and other hunting birds. During your holiday you can expect to see soaring Booted Eagles, huge Red Kites, Egyptian Vultures, Buzzards and, if you are luckly, the elusive Osprey lives here as well. Due to it's temperate climate and protected wetlands, Menorca attracts a multitude of both endemic and migrating birds. Warblers, Finches, Larks and Crests all live on the island and the eccentric Hoopoe is common on Menorca.

One of the more interesting residents on Menorca is the Common Tortoise. Whilst not endemic, it has thrived here and is a popular feature on our walking holidays.

Due to it's geographic location and huge harbour (the second deepest in the world), Menorca has always been highly desirable to invading forces. The Fellitians, Romans, Moors, English and French have all left their mark here during the last 2000 years. Menorca also has a colourful pre-history and the island is full of ancient monuments, some up to 4000 years old.
As we said, a perfect destination for a singles walking holiday.
